The short version. We only collect what we need to run the giveaway and answer your messages. We never sell your information or use it for advertising. We don't use tracking cookies or analytics. Course accounts on dealsaid.org/learn stay on your own device. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Who we are
This website (dealsaid.org, including the free courses at dealsaid.org/learn) is run by Deal's Aid, a youth-led non-profit organization registered with the Government of The Bahamas in 2024. "We" and "us" in this policy mean Deal's Aid.
What we collect and why

We don't ask for more than this. Please don't include sensitive details (like health information) in messages or essays.
Who we share it with
We never sell or rent your information, and we don't share it for advertising. We use a few services to run the site:
- Formspree delivers giveaway, contact and volunteer form submissions to our email inbox. Formspree's privacy policy
- Google Forms receives proof-of-age uploads. Google's privacy policy
- GitHub Pages hosts the website and may log visitors' IP addresses for security. GitHub's privacy statement
Our fonts and icons are stored on dealsaid.org itself, so loading a page doesn't contact Google or any other font service.
Our pages also link to our Instagram and Facebook posts. If you follow those links, Instagram and Facebook's own privacy policies apply.
We may share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
How we use AI
- Course content: the lessons, quizzes and games at dealsaid.org/learn were written with the help of AI tools and reviewed by our team. AI can make mistakes, so tell us if you spot one.
- Giveaway essays: to make sure answers are the applicant's own work, we may check essays with AI-detection tools. This can mean the essay text is processed by that tool's provider. We remove the applicant's name and contact details before checking, and we only use tools that don't keep essays or use them to train AI.
- People make the decisions. An AI-detection result is only a signal. Our team reads every application and decides who wins.
- No AI chat. The robot helpers on the site are not AI. They show pre-written tips and never collect anything you type.
Cookies and local storage
We don't set cookies, and we don't use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. The course site uses your browser's local storage to remember your demo account and progress on your device, and session storage to remember if you hid the robot helper. You can clear these at any time by clearing your browser's site data, or with Delete my account on the My progress page.
Children's information
The giveaway is for students, so many applicants are under 18. Because of that:
- A parent or guardian must give permission and provide their own email and phone number before an application can be sent.
- We use a child's information only to run the giveaway. We never use it for marketing.
- We will only share a winner's name or photo publicly with a parent or guardian's permission.
- A parent or guardian can ask to see or delete their child's information at any time.
How long we keep it
- Giveaway applications and proof-of-age documents: deleted within 6 months after winners are announced.
- Contact and volunteer messages: kept while we're in touch with you, and deleted within 12 months after.
- Course accounts: stay on your device until you delete them.
How we protect it
The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Only Deal's Aid team members who run the giveaway or answer messages can see submissions.
Your choices
You can ask us to see, correct or delete any information you've sent us. Email dealsaid54@gmail.com with the subject "Data request" and tell us what you'd like. We'll reply within 30 days. We follow The Bahamas' Data Protection (Privacy of Personal Information) Act, 2003.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
