Use of the Horn 🚗🔊

  1. No road rage symphonies – The horn is not your personal stress-relief button.

  2. Silence zones – Hospitals, courtrooms, schools, and towns between midnight and 6 a.m. are no-honk zones. People are either sleeping or dealing with serious stuff.

  3. Use it wisely – Only honk to warn others, not to greet your buddy across the street. This isn’t a social event.

  4. Surprise pedestrians – They can pop out from behind buses like bad jump scares.

  5. Pedestrians are squishy – Cars win every time in a collision, so give them space.

  6. Rural folks might be road rookies – Not everyone’s used to heavy traffic, so drive extra carefully.

Flashing Headlights 💡⚡

  1. Flashing ≠ Permission – Just because someone flashes their lights doesn’t mean you should charge ahead like a bull seeing red.

  2. Not a power move – Flashing doesn’t mean you automatically get the right of way. Other drivers aren’t mind readers.

  3. Use only for visibility – Flash to say, “Hey, I exist!” not “Move it or lose it.”

Children & Vulnerable Pedestrians 👶👵♿

  1. Help the elderly and disabled – If they’re struggling to cross, be a decent human and let them go.

  2. Schools & hospitals = Slow zones – Nobody wants to be that person who ignored this rule.

  3. Kids are unpredictable – They freeze in fear, chase balls, and have zero concept of speed. Assume they will do something dumb.

  4. Crossing Controlled by Police Officer (In Uniform) 🚓👮

  5. Obey the badge – If a police officer gives instructions, follow them. This isn’t a debate.

  6. Pedestrians, hold up! – Just because you think you have the right of way doesn’t mean you should play “Frogger” with traffic.

  7. Drivers, pay attention – If the officer says stop, don’t act like you didn’t see them. Their hand signals are not optional.

Signal-Controlled Pedestrian Crossings 🚦🚶

  1. Lights over stripes – Some crossings don’t have visible white stripes, but if the light is red, stop. No excuses.

  2. Wait for pedestrians – If people are still crossing when the light turns green, don’t rev your engine like you’re at a race track.

  3. Oil-covered stripes? – Just because the zebra stripes are faded doesn’t mean the crossing disappeared. It’s still there.

Before You Overtake 🚗💭

  1. Check the road ahead – If you’re unsure there’s enough space to overtake safely, just don’t.

  2. Mirrors - Signal - Maneuver – This isn’t just a catchy phrase; it’s how you avoid accidents.

  3. Bad weather = bad decisions – Night, mist, or heavy rain makes judging speed harder, so be extra careful.

  4. Make sure no one is overtaking you – Nothing like getting into an overtaking battle you didn’t sign up for.

While Overtaking 🚀

  1. Speed up (legally) – Move past the vehicle quickly but without breaking the speed limit.

  2. Give space, especially to bikers – Cyclists and motorcyclists need as much room as a car.

  3. Don’t cut in too soon – Make sure you can see the vehicle you overtook in your mirror before merging back.

Unsafe Places to Overtake 🚧

  1. Bends and hills = blind spots – If you can’t see far ahead, don’t even think about it.

  2. Near pedestrian crossings – Because flattening pedestrians is generally frowned upon.

  3. At junctions – Surprise cars coming out of side roads aren’t a fun experience.

  4. Oncoming traffic = big no – If you’ll force them to slow down or swerve, it’s not a good move.

  5. Where overtaking is prohibited – No Overtaking signs and road markings exist for a reason.

Overtaking a Stopped Vehicle 🚗🛑

  1. Check why they stopped – There could be a pedestrian crossing or an obstacle ahead you can’t see.

  2. Beware of open doors – Passengers or drivers might swing their door open right in your path.

If You Are Being Overtaken 🔄

  • Don’t be that person – Speeding up while being overtaken is just petty and dangerous.

  • Move left if safe – Give them space, don’t turn it into a race.

  • Slow down if needed – Let them complete the overtake quickly and safely.

The Overtaking Maneuver 🔄➡️

  1. Overtake on the right – That’s the rule, unless:

  2. The car ahead is turning right, and it’s safe to pass on the left.

  • Traffic is moving slowly in lanes, and the right lane is crawling.

  • Shoulder overtaking = bad idea – Especially if pedestrians are walking on it.

  • When Others Signal You to Overtake 👋🚗

  • Don’t trust them blindly – Just because they wave you on doesn’t mean they’re right.

  • Use your own judgment – If it’s not safe, don’t go.

Overtaking Gone Wrong 🚗💨

  • If they speed up, give up – Don’t turn an overtake into a street race. Just fall back and let them win… at nothing.

  • Never race another driver – You’re not in Fast & Furious, and there’s no prize for "first to the red light."

Pedestrian Crossings (“Zebras”) 🦓🚗

  • See stripes, be ready – If you spot a zebra crossing, slow down and be prepared to stop. Pedestrians aren’t playing “beat the car.”

  • No overtaking – Trying to zoom past at a crossing is a great way to surprise pedestrians… in the worst way possible.

  • No parking on zebras – Your car isn’t a jungle animal. Don’t park on or near a pedestrian crossing. It blocks visibility and common sense.

ZEBRA CROSSING

Overtaking Like a Pro (or Not at All) 🚗💨

  • Know what’s up front – If the car in front is about to overtake someone else, don’t try to turn it into a three-way race.

  • Do you really need to overtake? – If the answer is no, just chill.

  • Watch your back – If someone behind you is already overtaking, maybe don’t try to make it a competition.

  • Check ahead – If there’s not enough room to overtake safely, don’t do it.

Taking Care Near Motorcyclists and Cyclists 🏍️🚴

  • Overtaking etiquette – Never pass a biker and then immediately turn in front of them unless you want to star in their angry road rage story.

  • “Think bike” always – They’re smaller, harder to see, and way more vulnerable than you. Give them space.

  • Unpredictable riders – Cyclists may swerve to dodge potholes or obstacles. Don't assume they're riding in a perfectly straight line.

Pedestrian Awareness 🚶‍♂️⚠️

  • Schools = danger zones – Kids aren’t great at looking both ways, so be extra cautious during school hours.

  • We’re all pedestrians sometimes, So don’t drive like you own the road.

  • Pedestrians have rights too – Slow down and be considerate, especially in crowded areas.
